WIP Wednesday

Actually some changes this week!!  I need to get the camera out.  Scrappy Chevrons is headed east as a baby gift, so I'll hopefully get it boxed up this weekend.  Madonna and Child is destined for a wall hanging, but it will be quite an adventure to actually hang it, so I'm not sure when that will be done.  I'm not sure where Avalon is going to go yet...  The wall hanging has actually been a WIP since February, but it just never made it on the list.  I figured I should get that project done before I buy tickets to the next QuilCon!  Recent Completions!! WIP Wednesday

Some sewing getting done, but never as much as I'd like!  This is a secret project in the works, using the lovely Canyon by Kate Spain. I just love these colors!  I'm hoping to have the top finished this weekend, and then off to the quilters.  I currently have FIVE at the quilters, which is a bit ridiculous, but at least some are getting done.  Or at least they will once I muster up the energy to do some binding.  I think I'm going to tackle the quilting on scrappy chevrons myself.  I need a baby quilt, and I think that will fit the bill nicely.  And yes, other than adding the pretty picture, this post is exactly the same as last week.  I'm going to have to add some new projects just to make some changes.  :)  Recent Completions!! WIP Wednesday

Very little progress made this week, as I left last Wednesday for a family reunion.  We had an absolutely fabulous time, and got back Sunday afternoon.  I'm still trying to catch up!  My husband went off on Ragbrai, and my daughter out to Colorado to spend a week with my super-cool aunt, so it's just me and the little guy at home.  It's harder to get sewing done with him, as he wants to be IN the sewing room with me.  I've started him on some small paper-sewing - just running paper through the machine with an old needle.  He, of course, loves it, and wants to do it all the time.  I'm thinking about getting a smaller table set up with a kids machine, although I have no idea where I'd actually put it...  Until then, though, I sit on the loveseat with him after dinner and do cross stitch while he watches an episode of Octonauts.  I dropped three more quilts off at the quilters before I left, which makes FIVE.  I'm going to have to do a se...

WIP Wednesday

Definitely making some progress - I moved one top into the finished pile, and just need to add borders onto another.  I finished a shirt for my upcoming vacation, and have another about 75% done.  Two quilts actually made it to the quilters, and I'm still trying to decide what the next project is going to be...   Recent Completions!! This was definitely a fun project!  It was another Moda Bakeshop one, made from a Hi De Ho Jelly Roll and yardage.  I'd originally wanted the triangle pieces to be five strips, but I couldn't quite squeeze enough triangles out of a strip set that way.  Regardless, I do like the way it turned out.  I used a polka dot for the background, which was kind of a fun change from the usual white, too.  The sun was on its way down when I was taking pictures, but I think the bridge may be a new favorite spot for showing off quilts. I'm still learning how to use my good camera.  A work in progress, as with so much else.   I did a scrappy binding from leftover jelly rolls, and love the bit of color it gives it.   I'm not sure where this one will be going - a good friend is having a baby girl, though, so I strongly suspect it may be headed east in a couple of months!
