March Planning

So some much overdue pictures.  This is a close up of the quilting on my pink mini for a swap, loved how it turned out! Every which way, a Moda Bakeshop post.  I have a quilting plan in mind, but I think I'm going to wait for my long-arm quilter to arrive (!!!) to execute.  Another Moda Bakeshop quilt, with my handy quilt holders.  Hard to believe this was taken in Iowa, in February!  This quilt got NO love on the website.  I'm telling myself it's because it was posted during QuiltCon.  Yeah, that's it... My Charlie Harper mini!  LOVE LOVE LOVE this one, and actually made two, so I get to keep one!  They're almost identical, I just added a layer of batting behind the owls on one of them.  Several new techniques on this one; I did some machine quilting with 12 wt thread for the owl, and embroidered the eyes.  Fun stuff! A crochet project!  My son has used and loved his baby blanket basica...

February WIP

The weather this winter has been mild, but I'm sad to report that the bugs and viruses have not been so gentle.  Lots of sick kids, and I've been sick a lot more than usual as well.  It definitely impedes progress when you sleep for 16 hours a day, and spend the other eight hours lying in bed wishing you were asleep.  Isadora threw up this week, and gave me that stomach bug, too. I'm still getting accustomed to the "two sewing room" model.  So far I have apparel type projects inside the house, along with smaller projects.  I finished a quick mini out of a quilty box inside; something I could easily do in smaller bursts without having to brave the elements to go outside!  I need to get more apparel type stuff going, as well.  Need more fabric!  :)  I have several things cut out, but they're all sleeveless, summer stuff, and I'm going to wait to get started on those.
